Data security in third-party inventory audits

Count Editorial Team · 2 August 2026 · 4 min read

Inviting an external team into your operation means sharing sensitive commercial data. Here is what to require from any counting partner.

Inventory data reveals more about a business than most leaders realise: supplier relationships, margins, demand patterns and capacity. Handing it to a third party without controls is a genuine commercial risk.

Ask where the data is hosted. In-country hosting matters for UAE entities subject to data residency expectations. Count hosts client data at MORO Hub, within the UAE, under managed security controls.

Ask who can access it. Role-based access, named individuals and revocation on project completion should be contractual, not aspirational. Request the deletion or handover schedule in writing before work begins.

Finally, ask how devices are managed. Counting happens on handhelds in the field; unmanaged personal devices are the weakest link in an otherwise sound process.

Let's count what matters.

Talk to our team about stocktaking, asset tagging or end-to-end inventory transformation. We respond within one business day.
